For achieving this goal requires different health professionals to work in collaboration with each other to meet the health needs of patients.

Drug development: the journey of a medicine from lab to shelf

But Before a drug is deemed suitable for patients, it has to go through rigorous testing and cost-effectiveness analyses.

- Once a potential target has been identified, researchers will then search for a molecule or compound that acts on this target.
- The next stage is to confirm that these molecules have an effect and that they are safe.
- And then clinical trials
